Rachel Harvey
Registered Social Worker, Te Puaruruhau

​Rachel Harvey is currently working as a Registered Social Worker at Te Puaruruhau which is the child protection team at Starship Hospital in Auckland. Rachel views her role as being a child advocate. Rachel also held the role of National Co-coordinator of the Shaken Baby Prevention Programme for two years. Rachel has previously worked as a Social Worker in the UK, Australia and Ireland. These positions were largely in child protection but also in the area of homeless youth, asylum seekers and children in care. Rachel has a Bachelor of Social Work from Massey University. Originally from Hawkes Bay she has been based in Auckland for 15 years.
