Anna Alder
Social Worker Te Puaruruhau

Anna is of Ngāti Tūwharetoa and Ngāti Porou decent and is a qualified Social Worker who previously worked in Te Puaruruhau, Starship Children's Hospital specialist child protection team. She now works with Oranga Tamariki, Aotearoa's statutory child protection agency. Anna holds full registration with Kāhui Whakamana Tauwhiro, and membership with Tangata Whenua Social Workers Association and Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers. Anna has a background in community social work, programme facilitation and project management. Anna is deeply passionate about working alongside whānau Māori in the effort to achieve more positive outcomes and experiences, and is committed to challenging systems which are inherently biased against tangata whenua and ethnic minorities.
